He Said She Said
Location: Vermont
Date: Fall 2018

Details: This event took place during the fall of my junior year. We got a tip on a massive abandoned bank in the town over and reached out to the property owners to propose our ideas. Suprisingly enough, they supported the idea of using the space as a venue for a night. This was when I turned Big Face into an LLC because we needed to insure everything. So, I went through the process of getting insurance, put down a deposit, and started working day and night to get things done. This event was called He Said She Said. It became sort of a play on We Need to Talk, an event from the year prior. It was independently supported by myself and friends. We pretty much renovated the property by thoroughly cleaning and painting the whole place. Although, the bathrooms were out of commission so we rented porta potties which worked wonderfully.
We rounded up 45 artists and 4 musicians including locals Loupo and Greaseface. We brought in a couple skateboard ramps/rails along with some of the best skaters in the area for a competition during a portion of Greaseface’s set.
With all the chaos, moshing, skateboarding, and other nonsense, miraculously nothing went wrong. Over 600 people came out for this night to make it what it was. I am so thankful for having the chance to experience this. It wouldn’t be possible without the artists and musicians willing to share their crafts with the world and, of course, the incredible crowd.
